Jason, the other half of JL PILLAR, has always been aware of the importance, both historical as well as a sacred place for people to memorialize their loved ones. From early on, raking and caring for a local cemetery as a Boy Scout, to more currently, helping at a local cemetery and participating in actions like “Find a Grave”. Walking through older cemeteries is like taking a step back in history. Preserving these, not just for family but future generations, is very important. Prior to moving to Faribault in 1995, Jason was in the United States Navy and then graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Minnesota. Jason has been involved with the community in many ways, participating in youth hockey as a Board Member and President, as a coach and current Board President for the Faribault Soccer Club, and former High School soccer coach, as well as Color Guard for the American Legion and past Legion Board member. He values the Faribault and Rice County community as a place to call home. Jason participated in a number of veteran funeral events, further engraining his desire to help maintain these sacred places. Jason has been employed at Aon, working in Catastrophe Management for 28 years. He values his family and enjoys helping others. With 6 kids between them, now all on their own, Jason and Leslie, as ‘empty-nesters’, have time to devote to other passions.

Leslie fronts the JL PILLAR concept due to her compassion felt for families that have lost a loved one. She works with families closely, to assist them in making meaningful choices, design and overall experience with a unique JL PILLAR membership.
She developed a passion for helping others early on, she volunteered during her school age days as an activities assistant with the older population in local nursing homes in the early 80's. She worked in banking as a personal banker from 1989 through 2000. She worked with families through Rice County Social Services for about 4 years, then decided she could do more. In 2004, she pursued her nursing degree while working as a student nurse in the long term care setting, assisted living setting and hospital. She received her Associate of Science degree in Nursing from South Central College in 2009. She has been a practicing Registered Nurse since that time. After more than 14 years of hands on in the hospital setting, she has since stepped away from the bedside in 2018. She has been working in a more admirative nursing role, determining medical need for procedures and services, continuing to help patients in that way. 2023, based on a calling she had for this service to families to help them keep their loved ones cemetery sites cared for and hand groomed, for what she hopes is many years to come.
Leslie has been a resident in Rice County for more than 20 years, her and her husband, Jason have 6 children between them, and one grandson.
Leslie loves the beauty of the local cemeteries here in Rice County, now serving Freeborn County as of Spring 2025 and the historical significance these sacred places hold in many peoples' hearts.
